tourism can bring many positive impacts on a territory, a heritage site or a destination. However, if poorly managed, tourism can also become harmful for the environment, the economy and the resident community. Many efforts to promote sustainable tourism can be traced back to two strategies: regulation and persuasion. But despite these efforts, we still witness an intention-action gap when it comes to engaging in sustainable behaviour.

 

Nudge My Tour and BeST are two Erasmus+ projects building & sharing knowledge about behavioural sciences applied to tourism sustainability, with the aim of helping destination managers and policy makers to make sustainable behaviours easier to adopt and more attractive.
