italy is home to the greatest biological diversity in all of Europe. Estimates speak of over 60,000 animal species and 10,000 vascular plant species that populate 130 different ecosystems. the National Biodiversity Future Center (NBFC) was created is the first Italian research center dedicated to biodiversity and was funded by the European Union’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan – NextGenerationEU. it aims at monitoring, conserving and learning about all aspects of italian diversity,

 

for the NBFC, formicablu manages the site “biodiversity through data” that contributes with the tools of data journalism to narrate the story of Italian biodiversity.
